Technical Characteristics of Station-Type Lightning Arrester

Rated voltage: The maximum power frequency voltage that the arrester can withstand briefly and extinguish the arc (for example, the rated voltage of HY5WZ-17/45Q is 17kV). Continuous operating voltage: The voltage value allowed for long-term operation (such as 13.6kV), which must be ≥ the system's highest phase voltage.
Non-linear resistance characteristics
Using zinc oxide valve plates as the core component, it exhibits a high resistance state (>1000MΩ) under normal voltage, and the resistance drops sharply to <1Ω during overvoltage, forming a leakage path.
Restores to high resistance state within 0.01 seconds after discharge, cutting off power frequency follow current to prevent continuous discharge damage to equipment.

Square Wave Current Capacity: The ability to continuously withstand square wave current (e.g., 200A), reflecting resistance to multiple lightning strikes.

Integral molding: Using silicone rubber or epoxy resin molding, sealed and explosion-proof, impact resistant, compact size (e.g., HY5WZ series height only 257-303mm), convenient for switchgear installation.
Large creepage distance and hydrophobic surface: Prevents pollution accumulation, reduces wet flashover in foggy weather, and has strong pollution resistance.
Double disconnection device: Automatically disconnects the circuit in case of fault to avoid explosion risk and ensure operation and maintenance safety.
